The "Omega"

This is definitely the top of the list, when it comes to funny fundaes!! Thanks to Ankrity Das, a good old friend back in Junior College, that I was shown light about the origin of the symbol Omega!!!

One clumsy afternoon, when Ankrity took me and my friends to show us his place, we were made to experience the utterly messed up view from his window. It opened out to a largely slum-dominated landscape of the BARC mountain in Chembur. All of this began right behind a wall next to his building, and extended out to the horizon!

Then, he went on to describe his experiences with the view from his window. Everyday morning he was woken up at 5 am by the loud public address of Muslim prayers from a mosque near by. And how treacherous his mornings were since all he can see out of his window during the early hours of the day was a whole lot of omegas cluttered around a small hillock. When asked with an element of surpirse as to what he meant by omegas, what followed was absolutely hilarious to hear. To our immense surprise and reason of rollicking laughter, he was referring to slum-dwellers emptying their alimentary canals early morning Indian style, facing away from him. So all he saw from his window every morning was a bunch of asses shaped like an omega staring right back at his face, in obviously the most uncomfortable a view that can be......and he went on to claim that it was how the symbol OMEGA must have originated in the first place!!!!
